At State of Wow, responsibility is not a fixed destination – it is a continuous journey.

Our Approach to Responsibility

At State of Wow, responsibility is not a fixed destination – it is a continuous journey. We strive to improve every day and to contribute actively to the green transition by minimizing our environmental footprint and ensuring that our products are made under fair conditions.

Our approach combines clear standards with concrete action. We work closely with our suppliers and partners to uphold ethical guidelines, ensure safe and fair working environments, and promote transparency throughout our supply chain. Certifications and Internationally recognized industry standards help us safeguard both people and planet, while annual CO₂ assessments guide us in identifying challenges and setting new initiatives into motion.

We also focus on material choices and resource use, continuously working to make our products better, and more durable. For us, responsibility means looking at the bigger picture: from the fibers we use, to the conditions under which our products are made, to the long-term impact we leave behind.

This is an ongoing process – and one we are committed to pursuing with integrity, transparency, and a genuine desire to do better.

STATE OF WOW is GOTS-7 certified

GOTS, the Global Organic Textile Standard, is one of the most widely recognized international standards for organic textiles. The certification covers the entire supply chain – from fibre cultivation to the finished product – and ensures that each stage complies with strict environmental and social criteria.

On the environmental side, GOTS demands the use of organic fibres, restricts hazardous chemicals, and sets certain requirements for water and energy management. On the social side, the standard includes criteria for safe working conditions, fair wages, and respect for workers’ rights in line with international conventions.

There are two label grades within GOTS: Organic (minimum 95% certified organic fibres) and Made with Organic (minimum 70% certified organic fibres). Certification is carried out by independent third-party bodies, with companies undergoing regular audits and inspections to maintain compliance.

For State of Wow, being certified means that our products are part of a production process subject to a trusted international standard with a focus on accountability, transparency, and continuous verification.

Frequently asked questions

Where are your products manufactured?

Our products are produced with carefully selected partners who meet our standards for quality and responsibility. All partners are audited annually through BSCI, WRAP or SMETA. For GOTS-certified items, the entire supply chain is audited and verified by independent certification bodies.

What materials do you use?

We primarily work with cotton, including certified organic cotton for our GOTS-certified collections. We also use other textiles when needed for functionality or design. Our aim is to increase the use of certified materials while ensuring durability and quality.

How do you ensure fair working conditions in production?

We require that our partners follow specific requirements for workers’ rights, safety, and working conditions. Most factories we work with are BSCI audited - the ones that aren't are either WRAP and/or SMETA/SEDEX audited. All factories are audited annually by independent certification bodies, ensuring that these standards are met in practice. Besides this we visit the factories ourselves at least once per year.

Are your products 100% sustainable?

No textile product can be considered 100% sustainable, as all production requires resources. We believe it’s important to be transparent about this reality. While many of our products are GOTS-certified, not all of them are. Some materials – depending on their function and design – demand more resources to produce. With GOTS certification, we have taken a significant step toward lowering our environmental impact and ensuring fair working conditions, but sustainability remains a continuous journey rather than a final destination.

How can I best take care of my product to extend its lifetime?

Product longevity is an important part of sustainability. We recommend gentle hand washing, always following the care instructions, and avoiding unnecessary machine washing. Store products in a dry place and in their proper shape to keep them looking good for longer.

How do you work with packaging?

We aim to reduce unnecessary packaging and increase our use of recycled or recyclable solutions. Starting in 2026, we will also align our packaging with the EU’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation, ensuring even stronger compliance and responsibility throughout our packaging processes.

Are all your products GOTS-certified?

Not yet. Today, we offer both GOTS-certified products and non-certified products. Our goal is to continuously expand the share of certified items while maintaining transparency so our customers can make informed choices.

How does GOTS certification affect your customers?

It means that our customers can offer certified products without having to go through the certification process themselves. This provides a stronger foundation to communicate responsibility and transparency to end consumers.

What does the certification mean for the environment?

The certification reduces environmental impact by setting requirements for resource use and banning harmful chemicals. This includes lower water and energy consumption.

Why did you choose to become GOTS-certified?

Because we want to take greater responsibility for both people and the planet. GOTS provides a framework that ensures higher standards and greater transparency – and gives our customers documented confidence in the products they choose.
